Have someone drive the route during the week before your wedding to look for traffic delays so those can be factored into your schedule and alternate routes planned. Be alert to the fact that roads and bridges that may be open on weekdays might be closed for road work on Saturdays. New Year, New You! Look Great for Your Wedding!

It is a new year and with the new year comes resolutions. While we here at Ovation Images plan on continuing our resolution to take the best wedding photos in Pittsburgh, we know many brides have made a resolution to look their best on their wedding day, and with tips from Ovation Images, it is easy!

Eating well should be at the top of your to do list. You want to look and feel your best for your wedding and eating well is the best place to start!
Don’t tan or apply any tanning lotion within two weeks of your wedding day. If you burn or overdo accidentally, we have no way to fix that in your pictures. Also, most gowns will show strap lines and other lines from tanning. Two weeks allows time for those lines to fade.
Don’t use any glitter. It reflects light in distracting sparkles that are impossible to tell from tiny beads of shiny sweat. Glitter sparkles just have to be removed from your photographs, often at additional cost.

The holiday season is the biggest time for engagements, so if your man “pops the question” this winter be sure to check these items off of your to-do list immediately:

Get a manicure. Everyone will be asking to see your ring and taking photos of your new bling – make sure it looks it’s best next to freshly painted nails!
Sign up with Pinterest- it is a bride-to-be’s paradise. You could spend days on end clicking through DIY wedding details, inspiring photos, and millions of wedding planning tips! Get an inspiration board together so you go into appointments with a solid idea of what you want from each vendor. Bonus points if you download the app for your phone so you can show them photos of that you love.
Have the “money talk” with your fiance and whomever else may be helping you to pay for the wedding. It is better to start off knowing exactly how much you can spend rather than cutting out details, which you have become attached to, later.
Insure your ring. This is often over looked, but very important. You have waited long enough for that “rock”, so be sure to keep it covered in case of an emergency.
